Shimadzu Scientific Instruments (SSI) announces the release of the new PPSQ-51A single reactor and PPSQ-53A triple reactor gradient system protein sequencers. These instruments provide users with higher sensitivity and more reliable analysis of N-terminal amino acid sequences through automated Edman degradation. In addition, they provide an added level of flexibility in being able to detect and identify additional rare and modified amino acids and are FDA 21 CFR Part 11 compliant when used with SSI’s LabSolutions analysis data system.
The PPSQ-51A/53A gradient system protein sequencers perform sequence analysis at substantially lower levels using gradient separation and a flow cell that enables high-sensitivity detection of PTH-amino acids. These systems have high analysis stability because they are equipped with a high-performance detector and a solvent delivery pump that provides excellent pumping performance. With high retention time stability, operators can more confidently identify the correct amino acid.
PPSQ software enables simple operation, post-run processing, and reporting. Various functions allow the reprocessing of chromatograms, the overlaying of multiple chromatograms, chromatogram subtraction and automatic estimation of amino acid sequences. In addition, the PPSQ-51A/53A sequencers provide customized reports and yield graphs for a quick and comprehensive view of data. For regulated environments, using the PPSQ-51A/53A gradient systems with LabSolutions software enables compliance with FDA 21 CFR Part 11 guidelines for security, system policy, user management and audit trail requirements.
