Oxford Nanopore’s goal is to enable the analysis of any living thing, by anyone, anywhere. To get closer to this, we want to abolish the cold chain so that our reagents can be transported easily to any researcher and be used in any environment.
With this in mind, we are now starting an early release of a new version of our rapid sequencing kit. This does not require refrigeration during transit or on site. The kit is lyophilised and has been tested at up to 40’C for a month, which we hope to extend further. First kits ship today.
We’re releasing the first few kits to existing members of the Nanopore Community – you can see some examples of the amazing projects that have involved portable sequencing here. But we are also keen to hear from people who may have requirements for field-based DNA sequencing, but have previously been put off by the need for refrigeration. Is that you? Do you have an environmental expedition? Are you sequencing water? Food? Are you investigating potential clinical applications in non traditional environments?
We’d love to welcome you to the community and discuss your project. Please let us know by completing this registration-of-interest form.
