NML transfers to ISO17034 accreditation for reference material production

22 OCT 2018

LGC is pleased to announce that the UK’s National Measurement Laboratory (NML) at LGC has successfully completed the transition from ISO Guide 34 to ISO 17034:2016 accreditation after assessment by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS).

The NML develops internationally-recognised measurement standards that are used as benchmarks in analytical laboratories. Our scientists are at the forefront of measurement science and use the latest state-of-the-art measurement methods and instrumentation to develop and produce reference materials that underpin complex measurements.

This transition to the updated ISO standard ensures continued confidence in the quality of the materials produced at LGC.

Gill Holcombe, Head of Reference Material Production, LGC, said: “The transition to ISO17034 supports our role as an active reference material producer making materials in accordance with internationally agreed best practice. It provides an independent assessment of our competence, and we are proud to have this revised accreditation in place.”
