LANSING, Mich., Oct. 2, 2018 — Neogen has developed the first quantitative microwell test for zearalenone that uses only a water-based solution for extraction, which completely eliminates the need for methanol and ethanol in the extraction process.
Neogen’s new Veratox® MAX for Zearalenone can deliver precise results ranging from 25 to 500 parts per billion (ppb) of zearalenone in only 15 minutes. The new test can use the same aqueous extraction solution as Neogen’s Veratox MAX tests for aflatoxin.
“Veratox MAX for Zearalenone delivers precise, fully quantitative test results — and eliminates the need to handle and use hazardous materials in the testing process,” said Mary Gadola, Neogen’s product manager for its natural toxin products. “The popular Veratox microwell format also allows the testing of 19 samples at a time, which is an advantage to high-volume testers who want the benefits of using a water-based extraction method in a high-throughput platform.”
