ATL Achieves Validated Software Provider Status for METRC in Four States

July 18, 2018: Accelerated Technology Laboratories, Inc. (ATL), a leader in Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS), has become a validated software provider for METRC (Marijuana Enforcement Tracking Reporting Compliance) in the states of California, Colorado, Nevada and Oregon with additional states in the planning phase. With this validation, ATL’s LIMS solutions, Sample Master® and TITAN®, are able to interface with METRC.
METRC is a regulatory compliance system for the cannabis industry that is designed to track cannabis production from seed to sale. METRC ensures compliance by identifying and tagging plants and then tracking the progress of the plants through harvest and continuing to transformation as cannabis products available for sale. METRC will also track cannabis sales in each state – this step will complete the METRC goal of tracking all cannabis production and to ensure products are safe for consumption.
ATL customers using Sample Master® or TITAN® LIMS will now be able to interface with the METRC system in California, Colorado, Nevada and Oregon (currently pending validation in several other states). Key benefits include the following:
  • Recreational cannabis licensees or commercial testing laboratories will be able to use ATL’s LIMS to electronically transmit inventory and sales data into a state’s METRC system, eliminating the need for manual entry. This level of electronic data transfer will also eliminate potential data quality issues.
  • ATL’s LIMS users will be able to track the history of all known cannabis inventory, starting with plants and continuing through harvest and sale through distributors and dispensaries. Both LIMS have comprehensive traceability features that will satisfy any audit or reporting requirements.
  • ATL’s LIMS solutions have a proven track record in the agriculture industry with many of the features required by cannabis growers and producers. At the same time, ATL will monitor the specific needs of the cannabis industry and is constantly adding new capabilities as business rules and regulatory requirements evolve.
ATL is well-positioned to be the laboratory automation provider for the cannabis industry with its proven commitment to quality demonstrated by their ISO Certification, over 25 years of laboratory and LIMS expertise, combination of market leading LIMS solutions as well as proven LIMS implementation, training and support services. ATL offers both premise and secure cloud-based deployment options to meet the requirement of both large and small laboratories. With the addition of METRC validation, ATL continues its commitment to the rapidly growing cannabis industry and the importance of proper product tracking, reporting and compliance. ATL’s LIMS are both Citrix Ready and VMware Ready Certified, helping clients to rapidly increase data quality, instrument integration, automation and the ability to go paperless while meeting regulatory compliance requirements.
ATL, headquartered in West End, NC, provides total data management solutions to a variety of industries from analytical, environmental, food & beverage, water and wastewater, oil & gas, government, public health, clinical testing and manufacturing.
