12.11.2018
October 31, 2018 – November 2nd, the Analytica China 2018 was held at Shanghai New International Expo Center. KNAUER attended the exhibition and presented the AZURA Analytical HPLC / UHPLC systems, Prep – LC, FPLC, and the Dosing pumps to the visitors.
At the exhibition, AZURA (U)HPLC won the ANTOP 2018 Award – “Flexible combined (U)HPLC” and Dr. Ingo Nickel accepted the award for KNAUER.
KNAUER‘s distributor in China Lumiere Tech Ltd. invited the trade show visitors and introduced them to the KNAUER instruments on display at their booth.
Reason for winning
KNAUER (Berlin, Germany) was the first HPLC manufacturer in Europe. The company is now 56 years in business. KNAUER is one of Europe’s leading HPLC brands and is known for providing complete HPLC solutions with reliable technology.
AZURA® (U)HPLC is KNAUER’s new generation of HPLC and UHPLC liquid chromatography systems. AZURA is modular in function design and can be freely combined and defined (U)HPLC functional modules according to user requirements, bringing operators the analytical experience they desire.
The pump unit P 6.1L used in AZURA® (U)HPLC provides you with three different gradient formation options: isocratic, binary high pressure or quaternary low pressure gradient. Each type of pump can support 5 ml, 10 ml, 50 ml pump heads to replace each other, so you can achieve UHPLC, HPLC, Prep HPLC conversion without having to purchase additional pumps on one system, providing you with a multi-purpose solution.
AZURA® offers users 190-700 nm UV/VIS and DAD detectors in the 190-1000 nm range, and designs a wide range of flow cells for different analytical tasks, such as pressure proof for routine HPLC analysis, flow cells with light-conducting connection for remote measurements in hazardous environments, or high-sensitivity light-guide flow cells for UHPLC analysis, etc.
What makes AZURA (U) HPLC unique is that:
1. HPLC can directly upgrade to UHPLC.
When the system shall be upgraded from HPLC to UHPLC, you don’t need to purchase additional pumps. Just replace the pump head. Upgrade the pressure-resistant 700 bar (max. 10 ml/min) pump head for analytical HPLC to one for pressures of up to 1000 bar (5 ml/min pump head). The ultra-efficient UHPLC head gives your HPLC the resolution, sensitivity and speed of analysis of UHPLC. The entire upgrade task is extremely easy, with a smaller volume mixer, a high-sensitivity flow cell and 0.1 mm id tubing in addition to the 5 ml pump head. After simple training, all parts can be replaced by you, and the operation is very simple and does not degrade the analysis performance of the system.
2. Analytical HPLC direct conversion to semi-preparative LC
When the AZURA pump with a 10 ml analytical pump head is replaced with a 50 ml pump head, it can be turned into a semi-preparative LC with a flow rate of up to 40 ml/min, which meets the needs of your small sample preparation, and is truly analytical and semi-preparative. The machine is dual-purpose.
3. The AZURA original auxiliary module technology (Assistant)
It can integrate up to three functional units (such as valves, pumps, degassers, etc.) into one module, which allows the module to perform many different tasks, such as selection of multiple samples or buffer solutions, sample injection, online column chromatography, online SPE and fraction collection. A typical functional integration solution, such as online switching of multiple columns when integrating two valves, supports up to 6 columns to meet your needs for different tasks and different methods; or when placing two valves and one pump When the pump is combined, it can be used as an online SPE module for (U)HPLC to achieve online SPE-(U)HPLC.
4. AZURA® (U)HPLC liquid chromatography system is very convenient to maintain
The pump and detector units are designed with front direct access design. Users can directly enter the pump or detector unit at the front of the module without disassembling the module, fast maintenance / replacement of flow path and parts and lamps, even if the user does not have any maintenance experience, by means of a simple training one can quickly master the skills, greatly reducing the daily maintenance costs.
